BIG TIME GIG AT GARBAGE MOUNTAIN!
For those not in the Vancouver gossip loop, TOTAL WAR is me and Hesher (FEAR OF TOMORROW)'s new band with Nick (UNLEARN). it's along the same lines as F.O.T. but a lot faster, and i think maybe a little more brutal??? i don't wanna sound like a douche and list bands we maybe sound like, but i will say all 3 of us love fucking Scandanavian Hard Core... And loooooooooooove Japanese bands that love Scandanavian Hard Core.
Anyways, this will be our first show, and we will have demo tapes available (limited to 20, cuz we just got the master, and we gotta dub them ourselves)... So if you want one asap, you gotta come to the show tomorrow... if you can wait a few weeks, we're sending the master off to get pro made cassettes, and you can hit us up then.
This is what it looks like:
We're working on a blogspot or some shit so you can download the album yourself, but all in good time.
See you all at the show, up the punks, and F.O.A.D. BIG TIME!

CHARGED//DISTORTED in the works...
As i type this, CHARGED//DISTORTED's first LP release is at the plant. That's right, i'm pressing MUNDO MUERTO's brand new 12", along with my (A)RS(E) brother Kid from KONTON CRASHER records.
For a taste of what you're in for, check the first 5 songs here: http://www.podsnack.com/playlists/10e7199c1e9b7f3d91d0b3a53a607643
This is for fans of catchy as hell classic Spanish punk. Lot's of "Ooooooooooooooooh's" and sing along parts (for those of you smart enough to not just speak English like me), but yet the record stays urgent, angry, and focused. Well written riffs, and an intense live band to boot (as those who caught them on their last trek up here to Vancouver know exactly what i'm talking about).
Anyway, this should be out in time for their long ass tour that starts June 23rd in Austin, Tejas.
in other news, i'm working too much, and trying to keep up with all the shows here, and keep on top of the mail for the WARVICTIMS/DISABLE splits. i wanna spruce up this blogspot, so it's easier to update my distro/trade list, and seperate into sections... i don't have the time to nerd out on that lately, so this is what you get for now.
i'll leave you with a video of OFF! from their set in Vancouver a few weeks ago (mostly to piss off Nick from MUNDO MUERTO)... For those not in the loop, this is Keith Morris' new band with 2 of the dudes from RED CROSS. Normally these kinda bands bum me out, and just make me dread becoming old and out of touch. But when the balding dreadlocked 50 year old grabbed the mic, and the Ginn style riffage punched me in the drunken face, i was left with no choice but to spend the night jumping on the stage and jumping onto the crowd of other punks (much to the chagrin of Mr. Morris). in fact, if you pay attention to this video you will see yours truly doing just that.
Til next time... keep upping the punks, and now that it's finally fucking warm outside, i will see you in the park, drinking cider and making fun of soccer playing hipsters.
...Ok, so the "Vans" logo in the background is lame, and it's even lamer that Vans put this on... just take it for what it is!

NO PROBLEM in Vancouver...
Also, i hope everyone had a good Joey Ramone Day. As any self respecting punk knows, Joey Ramone passed away 10 years ago yesterday... i spent the day listening to s/t and Road To Ruin, and buying a new Fender Precision bass not unlike one that you would see Dee Dee rocking.
Moving on, one of the only other holidays worth celebrating is today... INTERNATIONAL RECORD STORE DAY!!! Wherever you are in the world i hope you go out and support your local independent record store. Vinyl never dies, and these stores know that, and that's why they scrape by barely making enough for rent... So that they can sell the punks (and indy nerds, etc.) their wax, and keep it alive and thriving, despite the mp3 "revolution".
Also, i'd like to say the new RAYOS X demo tape is awesome... But nothing compared to the GENERACION SUICIDA demo tape... These LA ponx play a really stripped down, melodic punk, that makes me think of X (LA), and shit that was coming out of Denmark a few years ago (ie. GORILLA ANGREB)... all sung in Spanish, and catchy as fuck. Do yourself a favor and track this shit down. Totally can't get enough.
Lastly on this blog update, i am now filling in for radio shows on the college radio station here in Vancouver... i'll be co-hosting Generation Annihilation with Aaron Brown today from noon til one pm (PST)... tune in at 101.9 FM, or www.citr.ca. We will be doing an all vinyl show (in tribute of Record Store Day), and you can count on me spinning some Scandinavian goodies as usual!!!
Til next time. Huff glue, drink cheap cider, barf where you're not supposed to, and most importantly, STAY PUNK!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FEBRUARY 26TH
Here's another flyer i made for a show... Hesher's doing this shit, not me, but ya gotta keep the scene alive by helping your punk friends out!!!
COUNTDOWN TO ARMAGEDDON (spelled wrong on the flyer of course) have been around for yeeeeeeeeeeeeears now, and the last time they were in Canada was for Distort Vancouver Fest Volume 1!!! This was 7 years ago!! Anyway, they play a mix of epic crust, mixed with almost psych influences, and goth overtunes.
FRUSTRATION is a band i've yet to hear... i guess i've just been to lazy to check out newer bands over the internet lately, and i haven't had a chance to buy their 7" yet. According to Alan Despotic, they are the best band in Seattle right now. D-beat hardcore punk, featuring Mr. John Hurt playing drums... For those who don't know he drummed in STATE OF FEAR and CONSUME... His variation of the d-beat is perfect. Listen to any CONSUME record and try and tell me any different.
MASS GRAVE needs no introduction, especially if you've read past blogs of mine. OBACHA is the newer power violence/grind ensemble featuring WAR HERO dudes from Squamish.
This will be a great show!!!
So it's been a while since i updated this shit. February was meant to be a sober month for me, but as planned, i failed miserably. i started a new band with Hesher and Nick (UNLEARN) called TOTAL WAR. Our first show will be in May (hopefully), and (hopefully) we'll have a demo by then too.
Other than that, i just made a mix tape for Veronica. Thank you to my boss for laying me off so i can drink coffee all night and blast music til 3:30 AM and impress girls with my retarded taste in loud, annoying music that keeps my neighbours pounding on the walls for me to shut up!!!
Check this shit out, and make a tape that's better and send it to me:
